TITLE 6.9 OCTOBER 9 UPDATE: THE ROACH INFESTATION PERSISTS (NIED)
October 9 Update: The Roach Infestation Persists (NEID)
It’s been over six weeks of bi-weekly extermination attempts since August 28, 2024, and the roach infestation in this property continues to thrive. This isn’t just a pest problem; it’s a blatant health and safety crisis rooted in the property owner and management’s refusal to maintain a fit, sanitary building and enforce the terms of their own lease agreements.
The severity of this situation cannot be overstated. Roaches are not merely inconvenient—they are carriers of disease, trigger allergies, and create unlivable conditions. The refusal to properly address the root causes of this infestation has turned my home into a battlefield, costing me more than just peace of mind.
I haven’t slept properly for three days. Two nights ago, roaches dropped from the ceiling and into my shirt, an experience so horrifying that last night my psychic trauma warned me to look up just in time. I caught a roach before it could repeat the same violation, but the mental and emotional toll is indescribable.
I want to make one thing clear: I did not arrive at this property with roaches. In my adult life, I have never lived in a roach-infested environment until now. These conditions were created and perpetuated by the negligence of those responsible for maintaining this building.
It’s unreasonable to expect me to abandon my belongings because of this disaster. My leather pub couches, irreplaceable vintage midcentury dining set, Sealy mattress, dressers, appliances, and electronics—these are not disposable items, and I refuse to let them become casualties of a problem I did not create.
Progress on the evidence website documenting this ordeal has been delayed due to exhaustion and the relentless stress of living in these conditions. However, I am committed to holding those responsible accountable and ensuring that no one else has to endure what I am facing.
This isn’t just about me; it’s about standing up to systemic neglect and demanding justice for those forced to live in unsafe, unsanitary conditions. Stay tuned for further updates, and thank you for your support.
